Heart Views

     So, here is a very important question to consider.  Who defines what you believe and who you are?  One would probably need to define the word believe first.  Generally, it is a term used to describe what you know to be the undisputed fact or truth.

  

     This can relate to many different factors including:  yourself, others, God, things, and places.  So, the first question to ask is who defines you?  Do you let others define who you are?

     Do you let society define who you are?  Do you let God define who you are and are destined to be?  If you let others and society define who you are then most likely they are a factor in what you believe.

     Are you governed by factors that are unlike God like stress, anxiety, and worry?  Do you see yourself through the eyes of others?  If someone told you that you are worthless, would you feel that way?

     Define yourself as God sees you as the beautiful treasure of his heart of love.  Equip and cover yourself with the armor of his spirit so that when you experience such things it cannot hurt you.

     He will take care of you.  He will carry any burdens that try to weigh you down and steal your happiness and joy.  

     You are his beautiful, breathtaking creation.  You have so much promise and are blessed with gifts and talents that he has given you to fulfill a purpose.

     So, let who you are and what you believe be defined completely through who he is.  You'll find that you will never go wrong.  Your heart will always be filled with his sweet happiness!

Purpose Minded

     So, what is purpose?  Purpose is a set goal that the Lord has for you to accomplish using the gifts and the talents that he has given to you.  It is specifically set for just you to achieve.

     Perhaps there are days when you feel that you have no purpose.  Maybe you thought that the sun would not shine quite so brightly again.  Possibly someone has hurt you or your heart is broken.  Maybe you've had some missteps like everyone else.

     But, consider this fact.  A lot of the major men and women of the Bible have had inadequacies or missteps.  Yet, God has used them in a mighty way.

     So, the first step is to pray and give it all over to God.  You have to know that he has forgiven you and will help you to heal and have peace.  The second part is for you to forgive yourself.  You are not perfect.

     But, through God you can be made new once again.  The next step is to seek direction.  Ask God to reveal the light of purpose in you.  Ask for great wisdom from his heart of love and grace.

     Remember, pray for those who have hurt you.  A life of purpose begins with pushing the clouds away with God's love.  Make great use of the gifts he has given to you.

    You are a beautiful gift from God.  You can do anything by his grace!

Memory Lane

     Take a moment to think about something.  Can you recall going to shop for shoes with your Mother when you were a small child?  You had to sit on this big chair (think of it in terms of a child's concept), and a man would measure your foot and bring out several boxes of shoes.

     Your Mother would tell you to 'sit still' until the perfect one was found.  After a lengthy amount of time and much discussion a decision was made.  But, the one chosen was far from what you would like.  They weren't 'in' of course.

     You tried to tell that to your Mom and got that 'wait till I get you home' look.  Have you ever faced something similar in terms of your life?  You are always looking at the same reliable worn out pair of shoes.

     You look at imperfections, mistakes, abnormalities, fears, and worries that plague your heart and steal your joy.  But, God looks past all of that.  He is already fitting you for a brand new, shiny, elegant perfectly fitting pair of shoes for your journey.

     All that you have to do is give your heart to him and trust him.  He wants you to live in happiness, free of stress and burdens.  

     So, let God fit you for your perfect pair of new journey shoes today.  Leave the old ones behind for good, never to be recalled again.  It will be the best decision you will ever make!

SUDDENLY.....

The despair and anguish disappear

The sun begins to shine as the clouds clear

NOW.....

The pathway is made stronger

because

There is a bridge of promise upon it

with

a

walkway for two pairs of shoes.

How Do I Say Good Bye?

Placing yourself in God's hands is like a beautiful mound of clay ready to be constructed

     Buying a brand new outfit can seem like an exciting and uplifting adventure.  But, a number of different factors have to be taken into consideration.  They include:  size, color, and fit, just to name a few.

     The moment when we place ourselves into God's perfect hands, we become like a beautiful mound of clay.  It is at that point when we say goodbye to the old man.  

     We bid farewell to the old, imperfect ways and prepare for excitement for something brand new.  But, sometimes, it is increasingly challenging to let go of the old, familiar ways.

     It is like taking off the old outfit that is worn, faded, frayed, and tearing.  Change is never easy.  But, it is change that encourages great growth to occur.  It allows a master artist to 'smooth' out all of the imperfections and make everlasting improvements.

     These are improvements to the total man:  mind, body, soul, and spirit.  But, we have to remember that the new outfit will require 'fittings'.  These are times when adjustments have to be made and re-made to make every thing like new.

     There will be times when those 'old' ways will try to prevail again.  But, this is when the artist works and re works his design.  He continues to master his craft so that his subject is fine tuned with precise measure.

     Factors like fear and worry will never have a place again.  So, the question is posed to you.  Are you ready?  Are you prepared for a new outfit?  Do you want to be set up for a dynamic journey?

     Let God be your master craftsman today!

The Light Of Hope

     Have you ever had times when you felt like a sheep lost in a wilderness?  You felt so lost and alone, searching so urgently for something?  But, you never knew exactly what you were searching for.

     It can be easy to feel that way, especially in today's world.  If you look at all that goes on in the secular media, in our own country, and around the globe, it is not very inspiring.

     Perhaps you feel like you don't have much motivation or energy left.  Have you ever heard a tank that is nearly on empty?  It begins to slow down, then makes sort of a put put sound and stops.

     However, there is a beautiful light that begins to shine brilliantly for the lost and lonely sheep and a fuel that starts to flow in and will never run dry.

     The Shepherd (God) is so strongly aware of his hurting flock and comes in mightily with comfort and care.  Suddenly, the light of promise is brighter than it has ever been.  You are more fueled and energized than ever before.

     So, how do you safeguard yourself to be prepared for a positive journey?  You need to put on the 'life vest' for travel.  What is in its woven makeup?  Here are its threads of hope:

*  Stay close to the Shepherd and let him guide you

* Pray with a humbled heart

* Put on the armor of praise and worship

* Keep your eyes on his light of promise

* Ask for happiness and peace

Let your light shine and your song be heard as you travel upon your journey.  Don't ever give up!!  You are never alone!!

It's Raining Smiles

     Have you ever sat and watched a simple rain shower?  Rain probably brings out the same general reaction in most everyone...gloom.  But, think of it this way.  Rain is an overflow of God's presence to nurture the blessings all around us.

     You probably feel down sometimes when the clouds and challenges of life appear.  We all can experience this.  Yet, although we may feel bad, let's think about one thing- it may make us stronger and help us to grow in the process.

     For example - what if someone hurt your feelings?  If you pray for them and ask God to help and bless them, you are responding in a positive way to something quite negative.

     You are helping yourself to heal, and helping the other person by praying for them and blessing them.  This might seem impossible or illogical.  But, you have to listen to inner faith and not humanity.

     Perhaps you are fearful of something that has you down.  The best way to combat this is to face that fear with a can do attitude of pure joy.  This gives you a sense of confidence and assurance.  You don't need to be fearful of anything with God.

     We may see challenges as hindrances.  But, in essence, what they may be is a stepping stone to a stronger you and a better tomorrow.  Ask God to give you all that you need to be more than conquerors.

When you do, you'll be surprise and delighted how quickly you can get to the winner's line and that he will be there with you to rejoice with you and give you a big hug!!

Discoveries and Exploration

The port of seeking and finding

     Have you ever tried to perfectly clean and polish a pane of glass?  This is not a relatively simple task to achieve.  You use one type of product and there may be streaks.  You try to use another type of product and a film could result that would be harder to remove.

     This is similar to our motivation as we endeavor upon our journey.  We carry many heavy burdens so definitively upon our backs.  We then let challenges instill things within us that break down and chip away at our inner man such as fear, anxiety, worry, etc.

     These things strip away our happiness that the Lord so greatly wants us to have and destroys our personality.  It is just like that film that develops when we try to effectively clean a pane of glass.

     But, as journey man, we can't effectively travel on the journey that God has for us if we are clouded by worldly things.  We can't be the true brilliant light of hope with God's love shining so preciously within us.

     So, what are the solutions?  It is simple, really.  You are traveling with the most amazing friend you could ever want or ask for.  Take everything, place it in a life box, and place it in his backpack permanently.  

     You say, well, it can't be that easy.  Yes, it can.  This includes everything!  Don't let it steal your happiness, your personality, or the mission that God has for you.  Just place it all in his back pack.  Lean on him to take it all and care for you.  Walk on with joy in your heart.

     There are great discoveries ahead.  Lean on your journey guide and know that he has it all covered!

     So, have you ever purchased or received a new gadget or product, especially around the holiday time ecstatic about its possibilities?  You bring it home, and start to unravel the detailed packaging with great anticipation.  The unbelievable joy that so completely filled your heart then ceases to exist.

 You didn't view the tiny print 'batteries not included'.  Perhaps an important part or parts is missing like the power chord.  This can be especially disheartening.  This great invention or new discovery is just a 'blurb of nothing' unless all of the parts are in place.

  Now, consider this scenario in terms of the journey.  How can a journey man be a prominent and meaningful traveler unless he or she has all of the necessary tools required and in place?

 He or she has to have the proper energy to make things function properly and essentially.  There is only one everlasting power source that can effectively do that - God.

 When we 'plug in' our lives to his eternal power port, there is a complete guarantee for continual power - heavenly power that assures total energy.  

 There will be times along the path when you will feel great hurt, sadness, disappointment, discouragement.  There will be instances when you experience loneliness, and cold.  When you 'plug in' to that power source, he will provide healing and closure.  He will get your feet back on its path of hope.

 So, as another chapter of your journey begins in this new year, make sure you 'read the small print' so to speak.  Be prepared and then be assured that when you take each meaningful step, it will make a great difference because someone else's step is right aside yours!
