A Spirit Of Thanksgiving

Father,
When I take time to reflect upon all that is around me,
Every beautiful thing that fills my life, large and small so true
My heart overflows with pure wonder and great humility
As I am in awe at the great blessings I receive from you.

I don't realize just how truly fortunate I have become,
Always looking for something more and so really unaware
Something so magnificent and miraculous has begun
You are already anointing my life with beauty and care.
You gave me a salvation that is a priceless gift of love
and an eternal bond with you that grows stronger every day
All the wonderful expressions of hope from Heaven above
It seems to bless each moment of my life in a special way.
I see it in the caring of a friend that is there for me,
and in the fellowship of family so faithful and true
It shines in the light of a strangers kindness so perfectly
There are blessings all around me in everything that I do.
Thank you Lord for blessing my life with your love so amazingly,
I am so grateful with a heart of thanksgiving for it all
But, the greatest of these blessings is having you there for me
and knowing that no matter what, you'll be there when I may call.

when someone

treats you badly?

Do you lash out at them

with

just as much anger 

that they treated you with?

Take a brief moment

and consider what the Lord would do

Many treated Him badly

yet He forgave them

It's hard to step back

with the world watching

But it is the most beautiful testimony

of the Lord's love

that lives in you

Reflect

upon

the

Lord's

Heart

today.

The simple things mean the most

In this crazy fast paced world

filled with stress and anxiety

We need to take some time

to count our blessings large and small

No matter how busy you are

schedule some 'blessing' time

Even if you only start out 

at an hour a week

Where you can get out with family and friends

and have some fun

relax and laugh

and reflect upon the truly beautiful things

in your life

then

when you return to your hectic schedule

you'll have an extra smile and joy in your heart

and remember

GOD IS IN CONTROL!

     A friend passed away yesterday.  He was an awesome man of God and devoted family man.  This Pastor was the kind of person who dropped whatever he was doing when he got the call that someone needed help.  He went above and beyond the call that God placed on his life and left an incredible legacy.

  When something like this happens, it leaves many things to think about.  Life is fragile.  We don't realize just what a fragile and precious gift it is.  We have today.  But none of us has tomorrow.  It doesn't matter what your age is.

  So why do we not consider just how important this matter is?  We frantically go about our daily lives, always reaching for more.  Do we stop for a moment to take a breathe and reflect?

  Do you count your blessings?  Do you know what will happen when you die?  You say, well I don't want to think about that.  It would be foolish not to.  Do you know the Lord as your Savior?

  Please, if you do not, take that important step today.  When you accept and serve the Lord, you will have a place for eternity with Him in Heaven.

  If you do know the Lord then reach out to others who do not.  Time is so short.  Don't let valuable moments go by.  

  Pray this prayer.  Lord I invite you into my heart and life today.  Please be the Savior and Lord of my life.  I want to live for you and serve you.

  Now go out and be a light in a dark world.  Make the most of each fragile moment!

A fragile rose is picked from God's garden with love,
It's radiant beauty is like none that you will find
It is nurtured so sweetly by God's hands above
and cultivated by a Father's grace so kind.
It is given a purpose so defined and true,

A wonderful blessing from the Father's embrace.

He gave humble thanks and praise as only He can

You see the joy that fills my gentle heart,
and you are there to share in my delight
You enrich every moment from the start
and are my beautiful, eternal light.

You see the tears that sometime fall so true
and you are there to bring comfort to me
Your presence brings me hope in all I do
In you I find my great tranquility.
You are the essence of every new day
Every minute is filled in your great hands
I'll put my faith in you in every way
and follow your word and your great commands.
Help me to see things through your holy sight
and to listen and seek you with my love
For I can't do anything by my might
It all comes from your mighty heart above.

and always keep my sight on your great plan
